Soften the Sun

Greetings, still on the learning curve of Octane..

I'm trying to resolve how to soften the shadows produced by the sun in any of the kernel modes. As best as I can figure it out, the Sky Turbidity 'should' do the trick but all it does is reduce the power of the sun light (as far as I can tell which means I must increase the power of the sun to get a good exposure..)

What I am trying to achieve is a 'sunlight' lighting but say in a gently overcast day that produces softer shadows..

Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

To soften the sun shadows (i.e. its edges) you have to increase the sun radius, but this will most likely not give you the look of an overcast scene. For that I would use some HDRI environment instead.
