Hi, Paul!
Found out that I had a few old "OctaneRender for Poser" folders lying as I had just given yhem new names. Apparently it is fatal. The folders were removed.
Made a complete new installation of Poser program and the latest update 5, and removed the above mentioned program folders.
Now it seems the installation of the latest plugin 2.21.2.41

Thanks for your help, Paul. My mistake throughout. That is what we in Denmark call an error 40 (the distance from one ear to the other in cm).
Best regards, Flemming

I recall that the actual release number displayed on the Accounts page is wrong (it as not updated). If the installer indicates it is 2.24.0.59, then that is the correct release number.

I have refreshed the STABLE installer downloads at the top of this thread to release 2.24.2.61 (the current TEST build). Pls see the TEST thread for release notes.

If you are using Poser 11, use the latest TEST release (2.24.2.62 or later).

Hi there
I just signed up for Octane for Poser a few days ago
Mostly smooth sailing (familiarity with Octane via Carrara helps a bit)

A few non-fatal bugs identified (2.24 latest)

Set up a custom Localdb at (non-system) content drive today
Octane standalone remembers Localdb location, reads and renders downloaded/custom orbx in Localdb
But
[*]Bug 1 - Octane Poser fails to load (see pic2) at least half of unedited-download orbx as well as custom orbx
If I load the same unedited material directly from Livedb, O4P will load it!
Also a text report popup after certain Livedb/Localdb material loading fail (pic1 may show clues)

[*]Bug 2 - Octane will not remember new Localdb location
always revert to Appdata/Roaming/OctaneRener/ localdb folder
so for now I can't use Localdb to store custom materials

This happens after multiple exit reopen Poser and using either Pauline Torso or a simple primitive.
Have also 'cleared all data.'

Also notice there are no Thumbnail or visual indicator for imported Octane material in the form of orbx or poe
Is that a bug too or a work in progress?

Thanks.

I have refreshed the STABLE installer downloads at the top of this thread to release 2.25.0.68 (the current TEST build). Relevant changes include:

- Added support for ',' as the decimal place in float text boxes
- Enhanced the conversion of Emitter materials, so that if an Ambient_Color image is present in the Poser Material, it will be used as the Octane emission texture
- Displacement Offset is now negative 1/2 the Displacement Amount to accommodate the grey-based 0 displacement that is generally used for Poser displacement maps

Yes, the plugin assumes the Octane Standalone LocalDb is located at C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\OctaneRender\localDb, and moving it will mean you need to manually direct the OpenFile dialog to the correct location. I will add this to the list to fix, however it is low priority, so may take a while, sorry.
