This is the recommended thread for downloading, and posting any questions, suggestions or support queries for OctaneRender for Poser, build 1.50.0.22 (STABLE RELEASE) onwards. This version is compiled against Octane 1.50 (or above), so see the requirements for that build regarding compatibility with your video card.

Pls do not save scenes with this version that you may need to open with the 1.20 version of the plugin (ie. make a backup first), since the pz3 file WILL NOT be backwardly compatible.

This version runs on Poser9/PoserPro2012 and Poser10/PoserPro2014, on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.

If you have a support issue, pls provide the following information:
- Operating System (ie. Win XP, Vista, 7, 8)
- 64 bit (Msg me if you need 32 bit)
- Amount of RAM
- Graphics Card(s) - model (ie. GTX 580, 3GB)
- Nvidia driver version
- Poser version (Poser -> Help -> About Poser) - list the build number (eg. 9.0.3.23027)
- OctaneRender for Plugin version (ie. X.XXa)
- Also have ready a copy of the octaneplugin.log and cuda.log file from your Poser temp direction (Poser -> Edit -> General Preferences -> Misc tab to find the temp directory)
- config.xml, which is in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Poser Pro\9 for Poser 9/2012 and C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Poser Pro\10 for Poser10/2014.

Change Log from release 1.37.0.21
- Compiled against Octane 1.50
- Added option to popup a confirmation screen when closing the Viewport

Still TODO
- Allow Pasting to disconnected nodes
- Image sequences are not currently working
- Implement subd processing for props (only implemented for figures at the moment) - will require a Poser SR patch
- Specular map image power defaults to 1 at the moment for skin materials with specular maps. Probably should be about 0.2.
- Export materials to OCM format
- Fix when camera zOrbit is non-zero, AND using large xOrbit and yOrbit values puts the Octane camera out of rotation synchronisation

Are you referring to the "TODO" items above, as something else? (Just want to make sure my list is complete).

Do I have to do something special to install it?
Do I need to delete something?

I just installed it and when I load a figure I optimized for Octane, it says:
"Octane error: Tried to access null node pin"

And the texture size is is wrong.

I hope I don't have to re-optimize all my custom characters for Octane again.

The rest of that message directs you to check the Octane Log. What did the Octane log say?

And the texture size is is wrong.

- Image, Floatimage and Alphaimage "scale" pins are not compatible with Octane 1.21 so will not be loaded from existing pz3 files. If texturemaps are out of scale for a particular material, "Re-Import From Poser" that material.

So I have to delete all Octane nodes in the Poser material room and convert it again? So all settings are gone.
When I click "Reconvert Materials for this Prop/Figure from Poser" the same error as mentioned above appears.

If I delete all note and reconvert it works, but now I have to make everything again :(

Deane - that looks like a graphics card issue. Was it a particularly big or complex scene? Did you have anything else using the card? Suggest re-booting and trying again.

The version 1.5 plugin is trying to create a version 1.2 node which is no longer supported. This could either be a plugin installation issue, and a plugin code issue. Can you pls re-install the plugin via the Windows Control Panel and then reinstall the 1.5 version and try again? If you still get the error - can you pls send me a small scene which demonstrates the error and I will take a closer look.

In the majority of cases, there is no scaling of the texture in the Poser material - so the Octane version of these will work fine. The plugin will also convert the scale (from plugin version 1.2 to 1.5) if it's not 100% in some cases. So there should only be a very small number of cases where you need to adjust the scale of the texturemap in the Octane material (when using the plugin 1.5 version on 1.2 saved scenes). Again - if you have a particular scene where the textures are incorrectly scaled, send it to me and I will investigate further.
