Hi,

Could someone send me a link or help to make octane renderer use more of my free memory to speed up
my waiting times. I just upgraded to the specs 'in my signature' and was expecting alot more speed for my bucks .!
..it was running 4 samples per second but it was taking 4 seconds to show sample jumps? ratio 1 sample per second..:(
cheers cal

vRam (if I nderstood good) has nothing to do with speed. So, there's no magic recipy for what You ask, sorry. & if You're talkin' 'bout Ram, then simply add some /if You have some space inside Your rig/.

Hi Calum

The samples per second is in "millions", so 4 will be 4 million samples per second. The samples per second depends on your scene complexity and lighting. The "sample jumps" interval is quick when you start a render and becomes longer as the render progresses (for efficiency). VRAM has no impact on render speed.

There is a "benchmark" Octane Standalone scene you can download to check the speed of your card - http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=23616.

There is a page in the manual on performance - http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Poser/?page_id=210.
