Hi guys,

I did a few full body shots, it seems the face on these for the avatar is a bit blurry, I have Costic set to 1 then 0 that did not change much and I am clicking AFI then the face area on the view port. Any thoughts on why this may be happening?

Sounds like it is just out of focus. Click the focus-pick button, then click on the figures head and it should bring that into focus. Or drop your aperture down to something small like 0.1.

I have the same problem. Auto Focus is not working. I have it enabled, open octane view, and click on an area, and the focus stays the same. Is there a recomended setting in Poser camera that will help? Thanks.

To see "focus picking" in action......
- set the camera aperture to 20 (so everything will be out of focus exact geometry at the very close distances to the focus point)
- Activate the A/F button on the Viewport
- Click on a part of the figure
- Once clicked, the focalDepth will automatically be put in the "camera" pin for "focalDepth", and "autofocus" will be Disabled

If you click on part of the scene where there is no geometry, the focalDepth will not be updated.

Ahhh, so you have to select AF in the Octane Panel AND in the render window.

You don't have to set it in the Settings window - just activate the A/F button in the Viewport window.

Then why is there a button in the settings window that lights up when selected if not needed?

If you are referring to the Eye button on the Setup window - that is not for focus picking. Mouse over it for help text, or read the manual section at - http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Poser/?page_id=52.
