Rendering while working

Is there any way to start a render and at the same time work on a different scene? At the moment the plugin closes if you want to load a new scene even if it's locked.

Maybe something alike with Posers Queue Manager to stack up scenes to render.

Poser unfortunately will not let you open it twice (so you cannot run 2 instances at the same time) - so I can see your need for this.

In theory it is not too hard to implement (maybe a "Close the current scene but keep rendering" button on the Setup dialog). However the complexities arise with how things are handled if the user tries to open the setup window again. And if the scene they subsequently load has Octane info in it - the plugin would need to be careful to not corrupt it.

I'll look into it. I'm 3-4 days away from having a big update for the Poser plugin done - I'll add this if it's not to complex. A queue manager would be much more complex, and no something I could fit into the next release.

[EDIT: If Otoy were implement the "export to OCS" option, that would allow you to export and render in Standalone while you worked on your next scene in Poser.]

Then we have to push Otoy to get that done :) I'm already exporting to the Standalone now to keep working on other scenes, but it would be nice if the plugin could do it, so I didn't have to setup the scene in the Standalone.

1. Btw, do you know if SM in PP2014 have fixed the name changing issues when adding/deleting/confirming/parent props and figures?
2. And can you double click on the file (pzz/pz3) now without losing the saved settings?
3. And can you add previous saved scenes to an existing one without losing the materials?

I don't know Zay. I've been running PP2014, but totally focus'd on the plugin re-vamp, so not had time to check these out yet on 2014 (and not allowed to tell you even if I had :-))

Will the fix for the Alpha Shadows SSS problem be in this release?

Probably not - since it requires a new Standalone and API Octane release. I'll post here when I have news on it's availability.
