Hair trans

Hi there,

Another noob asking noob questions. I've managed to make a number of good looking renders over the past couple of weeks. However, I find that black hair leads to this result.

What's going on here, exactly? When I first import the model, the hair goes completely white and defaults to glossy. I change it over to diffuse and it looks correct, but the final render produces this. I'm sure there's an easy fix, I'm just too noob to figure it out.

Thanks for any assistance!

Okay, since posting this naturally I make progress. It's entirely the color of the hair matching the background and thus falling into the alpha channel. When I change the hair color, it works fine. Is there a way to change the background color ? If I figure it out before someone responds, I'll post it here.

I love the effect in that render!

I think this is the same issue as http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=31830. If /may/ be just a Viewport display issue - so try saving to PNG and see if the problem is in the saved file.

Yes indeed, it was saving as PNG. I used the autosave feature which created the problem. Manually saving as PNG solves it.
