so it can really only provide functionality that the engine provides
well,
i know it's gonna be hard .
the concept :
- the 2 eyes looking at the same point O (focus lenght seems a good reference)
- left eye is the default render cam
- right eye is the left eye + 1° or 2° angle (custominzable value angle ?) rotation under the point O. Thats all.
Next step : right eyes is left eyes + rotation angle + little translate parallax.
When i render an animation:
- i know how to collapse pictures left-right and make a movie
- public user will not know.
- user playing with 3d format (glasses or other) will need .jps (even for anaglyph, .jps is a good generic format for stereoscopy)
- .jps is a .jpg with 2 side-by-side picture (left right eyes) : i mean a .jpg renamed in .jps thats all
=> octane can/may render the .jpg Side-By-Side renamable
=> using maybe a "fake" animation process of 2 frame : render left eye, render right eye, collapse, save (just an idea !)
=> or render all left eye, then render all right eye and let the user do the rest.
Tell/pray your supervisor to buy you 3d vision glasses and a good nvidia graphic card and a good screen (total 600$) , it's the futur
