Same here... I had to roll back to 3.6.4.34. the new test version (3.7.0.35) is just too unstable to work on projects at this point. Hitting the "Rebuild Scene" button while there is at least 1 figure on scene will always cause "Render Engine Failure" error. I can't remember exactly what the error messages in the log were saying but they are something containing these lines: "Illegal memory access", "could not upload texture files" or whatever it was.
Also the max slider value for certain things like texture maps (Diffuse, Bump, Spec) appear to be set to 2 by default, moving the dial slightly will snap the max value to 1, but if you change something else it will snap back to 2.
- I couldn't change a HDR-File (environment)... whenever I tried to load an old DAZ/octane-scene and tried to change the lightsetting/HDRI it wasn't possible.
Did the HDRI not appear after you have selected it? I had the same problem and found a solution that worked , try moving the texture's slider value ( the new slider right below the texture dropdown box, not the 'Power' slider) to zero and then back to max, this appears to force the plugin to refresh and the HDRI file should then be loaded.
- same problems with some maps/textures/displacement settings. I couldn't change the maps at all after loading and in some cases DS crashed.
I had encountered this as well, the fix is the same as the HDRI fix above. Haven't experienced any crashes though.
