Thank you - but changing the HDR-file still doesn't work in the new version.
If you move the camera after setting the HDR file, does the new HDR file get applied? (I'm not proposed this is a solution - just trying to track down the problem).

Moving the camera DOES change the HDRi-file, but not in the actual environment RGB image node.
You can see the change in the viewport, but the file name is not present in the actual node there.

Why does this happen on some LiveDB materials but not others... never use to.
Have the materials been deleted and the plugin doesn't know what error to call?

I have seen these errors too on rare occasions, but not been able to isolate the exact issue. If you can provide the data requested at https://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=58932 that will help progress the issue.

The following version will hopefully address the HDR file issue reported above. I would appreciate if some of the users experiencing this issue could test this version out.

I have heard back from Otoy, who say that that material and others are currently broken on the LiveDB server, and will be fixed shortly.

The HDRi-bug is effectively fixed with that update on my side.
Plus, with recent changes Otoy made how OctaneRender handles HDRi-maps, there is even less memory used now in the system.

Great work :)

I need help with diffuse transmission. The problem is that some non-primary colors will invert when used as transmission. Please help me setup a simple diffuse material which can accept any color map without having to tailor Gama and Saturation to gain an acceptable transmission. This occurs as of R3.7.0.36 - 37

Hey Paul,
Great work on this plugin so far. I have just purchased it and am enjoying using it. I do have a question though, which I'm sure has been asked a dozen times already;

1. Are there any plans yet to make the viewport dockable?
2. I have noticed a delay in the live viewport compared to using Iray or the standalone Octane. Is there a way to eliminate this delay so that the viewport updates instantaneously? (I tried setting it down to 100ms, but it didn't seem to change anything).

Thanks for all your hard work,

-The Philosopher

There are no plans for this - sorry.

How long is the delay? It is normal for there to be a second or so delay whilst geometry is updated in Octane.

I need help with diffuse transmission. The problem is that some non-primary colors will invert when used as transmission. This is a general Octane question - so you might get a more accurate answer in the Octane Standalone release forum. However my understanding is that the transmission will remove the color you define, so the resulting light emitted form the other side of the surface wilwl be the opposite color. You might be better using a Specular material with a Scatter node, which will give more control over how light is dispersed whilst it travels through a body.
