OcDS workaround - Matching Scenes to background image

Currently the OctaneRender for DAZ Studio plugin does not offer a feature to show or render a background image in the OcDS plugin viewport.

Note: A background image is not the same as the HDR environment.

- the HDR environment is the shape of a sphere and is used for lighting the scene
- a background image is a two dimensional projection that is not affecting lighting

- - -

In DAZ Studio 4.9 the option to set a background image can be found in a separate "Environment" tab.

In this example a visible background image made it possible to match the angle of the plane to the angle of the bar in the background image.

Therefore the current workaround is to use the live viewport in DAZ Studio to match the background image and then use the OctaneRender plugin for final rendering.

- Render with "Alpha Channel" ON
- Keep Environment "OFF"
- Composite render with background Image in your image editing software like photoshop.

- - -

For any advanced projects that match CG scenes to background images it may be of benefit to use OctaneRender standalone.

-> You can use advanced scripts to fit the background image

Render Layers

in combination with the camera mapping script
