ORBX material import/Universal materials issues

Good afternoon.

I am trying to develop a SSS material based on the tutorial here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WVHaaA9Pho

Although this is a C4D tutorial, I have been able to replicate universal material settings in Octane Standalone.

When I redevelop them inside the Rhino plug in (v137), the albedo, transmission setting etc do no respond the same as in Octane Standalone (2023).
Nor can I import the orbx file (from Octane Standalone) into the Rhino plug in successfully.
Seem like the Rhino (v7) material preview is also not true to settings.

Thoughts/advise on how to remedy or replicate settings successfully?
Thank you,
Rick

Hi Rick

I am uncertain exactly what you are asking here. If I load the ORBX you provided into the Rhino plugin, works imports correctly and it appears to render as per Octane Standalone (although the thumbnail preview seems to be black as you indicated). And your ORBX does have any red in it - so unsure where the red is coming from on your screenshots.

Potentially your issue is related to the scene scale - so make sure your Rhino scene is in Meters.

Thanks

Paul

Thanks Paul.

I'll explore the scale issue.

Basically, I'm noting that the behavior of the Albedo node is not consistent between the plug-in and Standalone.

I'll try to import the orbx material file again and render, ignoring the preview for now.

Thanks!
Rick
