I do not know how hard it would be to implement this.

Without texture mapping i would not be able to use octane on projects using this plugin...

Sorry Andreas, I only just saw this post. Is it still something I need to look at? May I suggest you try the latest version, so it have some fixes for live updating UV mapping changes.
