unreadable Cctane tab

Hi Paul,

I just had to re-install Rhino V6 ((6.4.18124.12321, 05/04/18) and Octane (OctaneRenderForRhino6_3_08_0_91.rhi) and when I go to the octane tab I cannot even read the texts or any of teh pop-up menus or slides. Stuff looks like this:

unreadable_octane)settings_window.png

I'm using a 4K monitor and my Nvidia card is Quadro M5000M. Driver 24.21.13.9764

Any Ideas what to do?

Thanks,

Gustavo

I don't have a 4k monitor, so hard for me to test this. But perhaps try adjusting your Windows font scaling.

Hi Paul,

That solved most of. I had to swing my entire Windows scaling form 125% (my preferred size) to 150%. But now at least most of the Octane panel is visible, still some weird cropping happening (in pull down menus and in some of the sliders). this is not happening with any other panel or UI element in Rhino. Any chance you might be missing some High-DPI code from them to make things behave better?

i am experiencing the same thing, and it has been like this with previous versions.
so i'm already getting used to it, and am used to guessing what is hidden, like;

i can't even see if the checkbox is checked or not.

i hope Paul has some magic wand and can fix this.
but there's a lot of softwares that are not tested well with Hi-Res monitors and i guess we just have to accept it.
V-Ray plugin for Rhino, for example, is unusable for that reason.

Could you pls try this version, and tell me if it fixes the compressed Octane Material tree problem (post a screenshot pls)? It should also fix the issue where Material sliders are not working.

Thanks Paul, for the quick update.

i tested the .92 version of the plugin.
the palette looks much nicer.

- when i first open the material palette, the slider and the number input both works fine.
- after a few actions, such as assign material to objects, switching to other software and come back to Rhino, the palette starts behaving as in the previous version again.

McNeel has provided a solution for this issue. However I have not been about to source a 4k monitor which works with my hardware. So I suggest if there is one user willing to test out experimental versions of the plugin, I can work with them (via Skype) and resolve this issue. Any takers?

Thanks
