unrolling maps to edit in phtoshop

Hi all,

im looking for a way to unroll maps/textures to then edit them in photoshop and reapply. Im hoping to take a model, lets say a truck, with a simple texture, unroll or flatten it and paint windows grilles logos etc on the flattened map image in photos hop and then reapply it with the new artwork.

is this possible in Octane. Ive looked through the standalone manual and the rhino plugin manual and cant find any references but I imagine it must be a technique that we could all use and is certainly used widely in other software.

Cheers

Tim

Hi Tim - Try setting the camera type to Baking Camera - that will allow you to save a baked texturemap. However you will first need to assign different baking groups to the geometry has different UV layouts.

Worth giving the Rhino texture unwrap tools a go.
