The Backplate, Reflections and Refractions checkboxes only work for the Visible Environment, not the (normal) Environment. So assign an Environment to the Visible Environment, and then tick the Backplate, Reflections and Refractions checkboxes as required. I have updated the installer at the top of this thread with:

3.4.0.72
- Compiled with Octane 3.04
- Added additional pins to the Falloff Map node as per Octane 3.04
- Added GPU Temperature to the render statistics
