- Fixed exception being raised when saving a Rhino file when the plugin was not open
- Fixed issue where rendering proxies in the Rhino Render panel was raising a "Singular Matrix" Cuda error

2.16.0.26
- Fixed issue where changing the node type of a material which is not used in the scene when the viewport is open would raise an error

2.16.0.25
- Fixed error when rendering to the Rhino render window using the OctaneRender renderer
- Fixed issue where the sun position was not being set correctly when rendering to the Rhino render window if there were no other light sources in the Rhino scene

- KNOWN ISSUE: Prior to rendering a Sun Study or Flythru Animation, you must select the Perspective Viewport in Rhino that the animation uses

2.16.0.24
- Compiled with Octane 2.16.
- Various additions/enhancements to emitters, including addition of "Surface Brightness" and "Cast Illumination" pin. See Octane 2.15 Standalone release notes for details.
- Removed ISO and FStop Imager pins. See Octane 2.15 Standalone release notes for details. Scenes saved with plugin versions prior to 2.16.0.24 will have the exposure converted to the new scale, however your default rendertarget "exposure" will not be converted - so you may need to adjust the default exposure and then "Save a Default"
- Daylight illumination power has been re-calibrated (pls see Octane Standalone 2.16 release notes for details). You may need to tweak the Daylight power of some pre-2.16 scenes to compensate.

- KNOWN ISSUE: If both the Material and Octane tabs are docked to the same panel, changing from the Material tab to the Octane tab after editing an Octane material pin value may lock up Rhino. This will be rectified in the next release of Rhino.
- KNOWN ISSUE: Octane Material thunbnails are based on the Rhino preview version of the material, and not the actual Octane material. This will be rectified in the next release of Rhino.

2.14.0.23

2.14.0.22
- Fixed issue where importing Specular materials from the LocalDb was not working
- Fixed bug where editing an Octane Material that was NOT used in the scene whilst the Viewport was open would crash Rhino
- Enter or Tab or change focus is required to send new values to Octane (ie. type a new Aperture value in te Aperture box, then press Enter or Tab to update Octane to that Aperture value). This has been done to ensure invalid values are not accidently set for the Displacement amount which can crash Rhino.

2.14.0.21
- Compiled with Octane 2.14
- Fixed in issue where of a block instance has an invalid material assignment, the plugin was assigning the Default Material.
- Added Polygon Side texture node (see Octane Standalone 2.14 release notes for details)

2.13.0.20
- Added option to import a proxy from an Octane Standalone ORBX file. The ORBX file must have one single unconnected Mesh node in order for the import to work. Materials for imported ORBX files cannot be edited in the Rhino plugin - they need to be edited in Octane Standalone

2.13.0.19
- Compiled with 2.13. See the Octane Standalone 2.13 release notes for important changes made in this release
- IMPORTANT: Requires Cuda driver 344.x or later
- If the configuration file becomes corrupt, the plugin gives an option to the user to return it to default settings
- When rendering Octane Materials in the Rhino Preview window, if the Octane material is glossy or diffuse, and has a node type other than Grayscale in the Opacity, the rendered opacity will be 0.5.
- Opacity values < 1 now render with transparency in the Rhino Preview window
- Added ability to save images to files/folders with special characters in them
- Fixed issue where pasted nodes in the Material tree was not setting the node icon
- Fixed issue where Disconnecting an Image node and then refreshing the scene would display an exception

2.11.1.18
- Compiled against Octane 2.11.1
- Added Highlight Compression to the Imager settings (see Standalone release notes for details)

- Added new Noise texture node (see Standalone release notes for details)
- Added additional kernel pin Static Noise (see Standalone release notes for details)
- Stopped the "Texture" node being transferred when changing the Environment node from Texture Environment to Daylight (and vise-versa)
- Rendering of Rhino Parallel Projection camera is now scales correctly for all Rhino scene units
- Added "Import Material from Local Db" button on the Octane material panel which is the same is importing an ORBX, however the Load File dialog is shortcut to the Octane Local Db folder
- Add "Export" button on the Octane material panel to export the current material to the Octane Local Db

2.10.0.17
- Fixed issue where rendering in the Rhino render panel with the OctaneRenderer was not working

2.10.0.16
- Rhino parallel projection cameras are now matched correctly in the Octane Viewport
- Compiled against Octane 2.10.
- See Standalone 2.10 release notes: Improved sampling in the direct lighting and path tracing kernels.
- See Standalone 2.10 release notes: Replaced the path termination strategy.
- See Standalone 2.10 release notes: Added new option "Coherent mode" to the direct lighting and path tracing kernels.- Addition of Render Passes to the Kernel, and addition of the Render Pass combo box to the Viewport

- More user-friendly pin names (these now match Octane Standalone)
- Fixed bug causing opening the viewport to be slightly delayed
- Converting all Rhino materials to Octane names now names the Octane materials with '(Octane)' at the end of the material name
- Added configuration option to stop adding '(Octane)' to the converted Rhino material

- Fixed minor issue related to importing ORBX file materials

2.6.0.14
- Added additional checks to ensure the Viewport is visible on a screen after using two monitors
- Added option to import a material from an Octane Standalone ORBX file. The ORBX file must have one single material not connected to a mesh in order for the inport to work. This option is available via an addition button next to the LiveDb button on the Materials panel

2.6.0.13
- The "Sync Octane Environment to Rhino Environment" setting is now saved with the Rhino scene
- Added support for the HDR Light Studio plugin for Rhino

2.6.0.12
- Compiled against Octane 2.06
- Added fix to stop the Octane tree control from frashing while rendering
- Color picker dialog now remembers it's last position
- Added Rhino commands "OctaneRenderOpenViewport" and "OctaneRenderCloseViewport" to open and close the viewport

- Fixed potential Rhino crash when editing invalid colors in the new color chooser

I have updated the installer at the top of this thread with:

3.2.0.67
- You can now set the Live Update checkbox for selection sets which included both Live Update and non-Live Update geometry items
- Texture Mapping changes are now applied immediately to meshes with Live Geometry enabled now (ie. the Octane scene now no longer needs to be refreshed to apply these updates)
- Fixed XML error exception when changing a material type to a NodeGraph
- Added option to turn off the subsequent re-link messages when missing texturemaps are found
- The missing texturemaps dialog now displays the material that the missing texturemap belongs to
- If you click Cancel on the missing texturemaps search folder dialog, the plugin will now ask you if you want to continue searching for missing texturemaps

oh no ...
the newest version seems to break my rhino / octane material connection somehow (please see attached pic...)

materialbug2.JPG

that is how it looks after opening my current project ( which I started using 3.00)... all material properties like colour , textures and opacity are gone! tested on 2 different machines.

Rendering works.

sometimes when I select an object and select the corresponding octane material in the ME the viewport seems to refresh and the material is displayed again. I can then manual select each material one by one in the ME and the viewport becomes good again... see pic below

materialbug3.JPG

Can someone confirm this behaviour?

I am trying to isolate the problem and post the scene.

I isolated a small part of the scene and the problem persist.

interestingly I am not able to use the purge command to get rid of all the unused materials in the file...

I have attached the file.

The reason for this issue is due to a bug I found and tried to fix when implementing the missing texturemaps changes (it was actually related to the parallel nature that Rhino requests the rendering of thumbnails for materials). I have removed the download at the top of this thread to 3.2.0.67, because it is a regression from the previous release. I believe I have been able to find a resolution to the problem, and ask that people test the following version and let me know the outcome.
