is it possible to implement the "live update" feature also for rhino blocks?
Rhino block instances always have live update ON.

really? but when I drag a block while having the octane viewport open nothing changes...
... even when I choose the "all meshes live" option, normal meshes work though...

Yes, you are right - I was mistaken. There is no live updating of block instances because the plugin would need to parse all the scene objects searching for instances of block definition from the changed instance to rebuild the Octane scatter node - and this may not be instantaneous (could be slow on a large scene). So at the moment block instances do not live update. If this was a high priority "must have" I could investigate how it could be implemented, however it would not be easy, so it's only something I'd rather do only if it was very important to users.

How can I do? What about the files of this two version? The *Wrapper*.dll has three dll files in the OctaneRender for Rhino 2.25_0_63.(also Octane2WrapperDemo.dll)

Alxen, it looks like there is a problem with the installer, which I will need to fix. For the moment I have removed this build.

OK,Thank you for your help. Waiting for your good jobs.
I wish you to set "Sync Octane Enviro to Rhino Enviro" by the OctaneScript command to support for this in next 2.25.xx stable version.
Have a good day.

Hi Paul,
I have a question regarding Material replacement. I am using 2.24 but I am in a tight deadline so I cannot check 2.25 for this...
I have a Template scene with Octane Materials and I need to import objects and replace the imported materials with the existing scene materials.
Rhino will ask during import if the materials should be changed / renamed. But this is not working. Even if I set rename Material (to Material1,...) there is no change. So the materials will be scene as duplicates in the material editor with out unique names. Any help welcome.
Thanks

Hi Paul,
I have a second question regarding individual colors of Block Object parts.
With VRay for Rhino there was a cool trick to save memory and time. It was able to use blocks in the scene that have parts (like the car painted carbody) set to "Parent" in the object material settings.
So lets say you have 5 cars of the same type in different colors. You could simply use one block that has the car body with the "material by parent" option selected inside.
So the scene is lighter and less complex.
With octane this is not working and I don't know if it is a limitation of the software or a missing feature. I need this urgently otherwise things will be much more complicated.
Any ideas?
Thank you !!!

I cannot reproduce this issue (and Rhino is not asking the the materials should be renamed). Can you provide an exact workflow which will produce this issue pls?

Octane will use the same materials for all instances of a Scatter (ie. block instance) node. So you can either use the Random Color Texture (https://docs.otoy.com/Rhino/?page_id=650) or de-instance the cars (ie. make them separate geometry objects rather than block instances).
