Hi Henrik,

I'm exporting from rhino, and don't have such option. I've tried almost all possible combinations on the export settings and it didn't work. And yes, I am using only 1 color, 1 layer. Going trough other aplications is no option for me, as I already find exporting from rhino a break in my workflow. I gave up. I came back to rhino plugin rendering engine until a good integration comes up, if it ever comes up.

Thanks in any case. You've been very suportive

I downloaded and tested here, and I am only seeing three nodes with the kitchen file, WHITE_DIFFUSE, CENIZA_PLASTIC, and RED_WINE_DIFFUSE. What version of Octane are you using? Can you attach the kitchen exported obj and mtl?

Thanks,
Sam

hi sam,

thanks for dropping by,

I upload the whole thing again; here you are, the thing simplified. 3 layers, 3 materials,

octane 2.2b; but happens also with 2.3 pre's
nvidia 258.96 drivers
cuda 3.1 toolkit
windows 7 32
rhino 4 sr8
tried all obj export settings. nothing worked so far

hope you got a clue!

Hi Waterthinking,

Thanks for your patience on this.

Do you see this behavior when exporting out of Rhino V5? Over here, I can reproduce this bug on V4 sr8, V5 works as expected. The current version of the Octane exporter uses Rhino's native obj exporter, and unfortunately there appears to be a bug in the V4 obj exporter, so it isn't something that I can quickly fix for V4.

I will work on a fix, but in the meantime I think V5 is going to be the immediate solution.

Thanks for pointing this out,
Sam

do you think I can install the v5 obj exporter on the v4 version if I get a hand on it? would it work just replacing the .rhp file that's on the rhino4 plugin folder?
