Here is a stand-in version. This is not at all official Refractive software, it is just something I threw together while waiting for the real version, so don't blame them if it doesn't work or works poorly.

Known issues:
- You have to save your file before you can render it. The exporter will create a OctaneExport folder in the same location as your document, and if the file isn't save it won't know where to write that folder.
- It does not handle orthogonal views well. Parallel views seem to be OK, just as long as the camera is not point directly along the world X, Y, or Z axis.
- It is Windows only. I have not tested it on anything but Windows 7 64 bit. I am reaching into the registry to try and find the Octane executable path, I don't know how stable that registry key is between different flavors of Windows, so it may bomb out.
- The exporter will match the current aspect ratio of the active viewport on export. Octane render width will always start at 1024 pixels. Right now it doesn't pay any attention to the Rhino Render size.
- Camera up information is not currently ported over, so if you have any roll in your camera it will be lost
- Sun information is not included
- Any Bongo information is ignored

I'm sure there is all sorts of stuff as well that I has slipped my mind as well as bugs I haven't found yet. I would say treat it gently, but it should work. It seems to be going pretty well here and is a nice bridge until we get the real thing.

Is this for Rhino 4 or 5?

It is .NET, so it should work with all flavors: V4, V5 32bit, and V5 64bit.

Let me know if you find issues with it.

Here is a slightly updated version that correctly exports camera up information, fixes blank renders for orthogonal views, and attempts to retrieve Rhino's current render dimensions to pass to Octane. There is currently a bug in V5 that will prevents the exporter from successfully getting Rhino render dimensions, so in V5 it will give you the current viewport aspect at a width of 1024, but in V4 it will give you what ever you currently have set in Rhino Render options.

Let me know if you find issues.

Hey Sam,

Are you planning to keep developing this or do we still need to look for someone ?

I enjoy developing it, and will continue to do so to the best of my ability, but the caveat is I have to do it when time permits. I am definitely not a pro, and I have a real job which often gets in the way. I guess what I am saying is yes, I will continue to work on what I have, but if you have other developers chomping at the bit to work with you, don't let me get in the way :D I have a long way to go before my plug-in looks like the Refractive standard, my goal is to eventually get it there, but I can't say how long that will take.

hi Sampage
I have a little problem...i have install at the same time the version 1.22b (the version before the last pre 2.3) and the pre2.3.
When I launch the render, this is done with version 1.22 and not with the latest release pre2.3 ... Why? What's wrong?

Thanks a lot!!
