Hi,

Strange probleme. I made a little video for explane :
Same scene on the two computer :
On the left side, my old laptop (i7-7700, 24 Go ram) with a little GTX1070 (Lightwave 2019.1.5 / octane 2020.2.3)
On the right side, my work station (Ryzen9 5950X, 64 Go ram) with two RTX2080ti (Lightwave 2020.0.2 / octane 2020.2.3)

Code: Select all
0:00:04 (0004.29) | ()()() RENDERING ...
00:00:04 (0004.29) | ... set image callback ...
00:00:04 (0004.29) |
00:00:04 (0004.29) | Render scene, set renderTarget and update
00:00:04 (0004.29) |       >>> Refresh preview window
00:00:04 (0004.29) |         >>> Draw preview window information
00:00:04 (0004.29) |         >>> Draw preview window status
00:00:04 (0004.29) |         >>> Draw preview window progress bar
00:00:04 (0004.29) |         >>> Draw preview image

00:00:04 (0004.29) |       >>> Refresh preview window done
00:00:04 (0004.29) |   ... first update
00:00:04 (0004.29) |   ... setRenderPriority
00:00:04 (0004.29) |   ... RenderPriority set to 0
00:00:04 (0004.29) |   ... set Motion Blur parameters
00:00:04 (0004.29) |   ... setRenderTargetNode
00:00:24 (0024.16) |   ... second update
00:00:24 (0024.16) |   ... isRenderingPaused
00:00:24 (0024.16) |       >>> Refresh preview window
00:00:24 (0024.16) |         >>> Draw preview window progress bar
00:00:24 (0024.16) |       >>> Refresh preview window done

in the log file we have clearly the probleme :

Code: Select all

Nope, sorry. This means that Octane needs a lot of time to build the internal scene data. Perhaps this scene has a lot of instances or hair near in the same place, who knows.

Thanks,

Hi,

you should use SAME LW version and octane plugin on both machines, not different LWs and then compare. Also maybe you have more options turned on your right combo (like material update and some other Octane config and render target things...)
