Hide source instancing object in Octane?

Hi gents. Octane instancing question here.
You can't use Dissolve to hide the original instanced object with Octane like you would with LW.
So, usually, you use local coordinates in the instancer, and then move it out of the way.

But, I want to use a wind-like displacement map to send it through fields of instances, so I cannot use local positioning, otherwise they all use the same displacement from the one in the origin.
And the original item is still in the way. How do I hide the original without using local positioning?

I have read there was talk about putting an option in the Octane object plugin. I tried using that, to 'disable' it, but then also the instances disappear. So what do I do?

I'm not sure if this limitation is going to have a solution right now. Scaling the master object to near 0.0 is not an option, right?

Thanks,

Hi Juanjgon,
No, any modification done to the master object will permeate to the instances.
It would be lovely to have a tickbox in the Custom Object plugin that just disables the object itself while the instances are still visisble. You referred to that being a possibility in some thread.

For now, I will move the entire scene, and leave the origin far away. That'll take me all day to do, but I don't see another way to solve it...

I always create a Null, attach all my instances on that Null and move it -1000m on any axis.
Voila, you've just lost your instance scources

Good luck

Hi,
You can :
- Set the original object to scale 0.001
- Set the instancied object in the Instancer generator to Local
That's it.

Yeah, so as I said, that doesn't work in my case.
I hope a solution for this becomes available.
