White Boarder Around Render

Hi,

I'm having an issue where I get a white boarder around the shadow layer of my renders. You can see it in the snapshot around the car tires and around the boots. I have a police car and an officer rendered on one layer and the shadow catcher on the other layer render pass. I'm using Raw, AO and Shadow render passes.

I'm using Path Tracing and Thin Lens Camera and the latest version of Octane for Lightwave.

Any ideas on how to prevent this?

Thanks,
Jeff

is that a 2D layer?

Also that cop is tiny.

I rendered these as 3D objects. The objects are from IClone. They objects are towards the back of the shot but the white boarder is noticeable in the footage.

and you are rendering out the shadow layer separately?

Yes, I'm using a separate object as a shadow catcher. It's on Layer 2 in Render Layers / Baking Groups where the car and officer are on Layer 1.

Is your layers mode set to 'Normal'?

I have Car_Layer on top set to "Normal" in After Effects with the Shadow_Layer below that set to "Multiply".

I just noticed that in my Car_Layer adding either AO or the Shadow layer with "Multiply" mode also adds the white line around the objects. When I turn them off and only show the Main layer, I don't get the white line.

Try to turn off "Keep Environment" in your kernel settings if is ON right now.

I checked and the "Keep Environment" was turned off for the render.

I played around with the settings. I render using MultiLayer EXR Tonemap, render all in one layer, then separate out the ground shadows with Cyptomatte, the white boarder disappears. Seems to be an issue when rendering out PNG 16 Tonemapped.
