Hi,
after some tests in a scene (using 2GB Vram and i added nothing), IPR stopped working.
It seems IPR load everything then it says "DONE" but it's all black. In console i get this error:

Any idea about what could be causing this ?

thanks
Paolo

Hi,

Sorry, I'm not sure how something like that could happen. Do you have this problem always while working with this scene? Any clue about how to reproduce it could help a lot.

Thanks,

it happened again, usually i set engine to VPR then back to octane and it works.
If i do not do this, Octane wont start even restarting LW.

Paolo, be aware that you can't do that without losing some Octane related scene data. If you switch to VPR in the LightWave Render Properties panel, the Octane plugin is disabled, and all the Octane data related to the render target is lost, so later, if you select Octane again, your scene is not going to be the same.

Switching between the LW engine and Octane inside the same scene is not a good idea, but if you need to do that, there is a couple of buttons in the Octane side menu "Switch to LW" and "Switch to Octane" that can help, because they store/restore the render target data automatically while switching the engines.

Thanks,

Reading here and there, it seems that there is a very frequent "Cuda error 700" on 2080 boards, Octane bug.
It's quite annoying since when it happens , switching engine is not always a solution so i've to close and reopen - and if it happens while rendering a sequence by night, i'll lose al lthe time and i may miss a deadline.
Hopefully Otoy is aware of this and is working for a fix !

Best
