object dissolve

Hello Im noticing a strange behaviour that I didn't noticed before.
Im using version 4.04.

When I set objects at 100% dissolve but they touch the surface of a visible object you still see some shadows or trace of the object with the dissolve set at 100%.
So its impossible to animate a object appearing over another, for example a chair on a floor like in the past ,because you will see some contact shadows still there before the object dissolve goes to 0.

This is a big issue..

Hi !

Long time issue ! With 0% opacity & coplanar poly !
Alone & heavy solution : 2 process & fade in post-production !

Hoping a fix !
Best.

Yes, sorry. Even a 100% transparent or dissolved surface must be raytraced by Octane, so if it is overlapped over another polygon, the rendering artifacts is an expected issue. A slight displacement greater than the kernel epsilon parameter could be enough to avoid this issue.

Thanks,
