Licencing Question

I'm currently running Octane 4 with LightWave 2015.3 , happily, with two 1080Ti cards.

I also own LightWave 2018 and 2019, but haven't migrated to them yet for legacy reasons, and because Octane is my main renderer and it works as is.

Question 1:

What are my upgrade options?

I have a GPU rig on my main PC I'd like to start populating, and I have access to other cards on the network. I'm happy to move to LightWave 2018 or 2019 if I need to make use of newer versions of Octane, although backwards compatibility with LightWave 2015 would be a bonus.

Question 2:

Can I run two versions of Octane at the same time - so V4 with LightWave 2015.3 and then a new version (Octane 2018?) with LightWave 2018 or 2019? This way keeping backwards compatibility with older projects, whilst getting to use new bells and whistles with the newer combo?

Hi,

Currently, all the Octane 4.x, 2018.1 and the upcoming 2019.1 plugin builds support LightWave 2015, 2018 and 2019, and yes, you can have several plugin builds installed in your system, each one configured for one LightWave version. Only be aware that you can't have two Octane versions installed in the same LightWave at the same time.

Hope it helps,
-Juanjo
