IPR not working correctly

Hi Everyone,

I just installed my upgrade to Octane 2018+LW2018-plugin, and am having a very unusual difficulty with the IPR functionality.

I set up a simple scene: one cube with Octane Diffuse Material applied, one Octane Area Light, a basic Octane Render Target (see the included screen shots for details)

When I select Open IPR

1) IPR opens
2) starts the log
3) immediately becomes unresponsive
4) locks up the LightWave interface
5) making me force quit Lightwave 2019

This worked flawlessly with Octane 3.0.8+LW3.08.2.0-plugin.

When I attempt to do an F9 frame render, Octane crashes and refers me to the octane.log file where I found this:

00:00:00 (0000.69) | ... Init rendering ...

I have the latest CUDA drivers on my system (see attached screen capture)

So what's happening here?

I'm attaching several screen shots so you can see what I am trying to do, as well as the entire octane.log file

Please help! I need to get this working as soon as possible?

Many thanks for any help with this!

Checking the pinned posts, I noticed that Nvidia driver 418.81 broke Octane on the PC.

So this might mean that Nvidia driver 418.105 breaks Octane on the Mac.

Do I need to wait for Nvidia driver 419.xxx for this to get fixed?

Can anyone clarify this for me?

I can switch to PC for rendering if need be ...

Thanks!

The 418.xx drivers are broken for sure. You need the latest 419.xx drivers, but perhaps Octane also could work with the 417.xx version if they are available for Mac.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

I've read that the 410.130 NVIDIA driver could be fine on MacOS for Octane. Perhaps you could try to install it in your system.

Thanks,

Thanks, Juanjo, for the tip about the Mac CUDA drivers.

I uninstalled the 418.105 drivers and reinstalled the 410.130 drivers, restarted, and now everything works again!

I also installed Octane2018+LWplugin on the PC as well, and it works great too, with the latest CUDA drivers 419.xx

Many thanks in getting this running again! :D
