Why oh why is the fog for Cinema 4d different from the Lightwave version?

Well, this only can be possible if the scene settings are not the same because the Octane core is the same in all the plugins ...

Thanks,

Nope, I have done absolutely everything to create this image and in Lightwave the fog just washes out the foreground details, sorry but something is wrong somewhere.

Hmm, it is hard to say why the rendering doesn't match. Perhaps there is a default parameter that is not the same in both plugins or something like that. Perhaps you could try to create a very simple scene to reproduce this issue in both packages and export both scenes to an .orbx file to check in the Standalone where is the difference. I can take a look at these .orbx scenes here if you can't find why the rendering is not the same.

I don't have access to cinema 4d i'm simply following the instructions exactly, same settings, same object scales, everything and I either get no fog or it completely washes out the scene. It's really bugging me now.

What instructions? Are you following a tutorial or something like that?

Sorry Juanjo, I have had other people look at this now and we're coming to the same conclusion, the Lightwave version . It makes no sense at all, if it's supposed to replicate real life fog, you know as well as I do that in real life objects very close to the eye or camera lens are still very clear and sharp, then further away depending on the density of the fog and distance they become clovered in fog. Octane works a little bit but doesn't do the 'close up' objects well at all.

Medium radius plus density should allow you to do this but it just doesn't work.

Can you share your test scene to take a look at it here?
