I've tried to convert my little scene in orbx, I load it into the standalone and...? Hard reset ! Same issue.

My current Nvidia drivers is 417.35 WHQL.

I've reseted all the drivers settings by default but nothing...Again the hard reset comes at the end of the IPR render.

I'm figured out which NVidia drivers are prefered for Octane ?

Hope that will solve this issue.

Here I'm still working with the 398.11 drivers without problems so far.

Thanks,

Hi Juan,

I've tried with 398.11, no result.

It crashes at the end of rendering when the imager denoiser is acivated.

Older version like 3.07 and 3.08 works perfectly...

What a weird issue. Here the denoiser works fine, and I don't have other reports about a problem like that. Do you get this crash with any scene? and what happens if you try to render/denoise only with one GPU, disabling the other one?

Thanks,

Hi Juan,

Yes of course, I've this issue with all my scenes when the denoiser is activated...If I put 500 samples with denoising, my PC crashes and restarts when the 500 are reached. It's the same thing for the standalone.

Maybe, It sounds like a TDR issue or a wrong memory buffer that's not freeing correctly.

I've tried with my gpus one by one, and it crashes too.

Only the denoising option causes the crash...It's really crazy.

Same crash here on denoiser.
Only on higher resolution though.
No crash with denoiser disabled.

I Juanjo,

I've investigated a little bit more, and apparently, my issue could be due to a power supply that not deliver enough juice...
It's weird because DELL T7500 PSUs deliver 1100w of power, normally it enough...Several users on the Octane/lightwave facebook thread tell me that denoiser use a lot of power...

It's probably a way to explore... Jules Urbach tells me that : I wonder if this PSY issue would be further mitigated on RTX cards where the denoiser is using the much faster fp16 cores with much less power drain.

So actually, I'm using Titans X maxwell, and I don't own specific RTX to try in my stations.

Maybe Titan X Maxwell demands more power...I don't know...

TitanX Maxwell is 250 TDP and RTX 2080Ti is 260W TDP so not really.
