Hi,

Is there a "no way" with old GC like gtx 580 ? I have the latest nvidia windows 7 64 drivers. Octane recognize my gtx 580 in the available devices but does not render…

Okay I figure it out : My old GTX 580 is a Fermi GPU and Octane 4 no longer supports it :-(
It is high time for me to buy a new GC (maybe a 1080 TI one)

Octane Denoise doesn't works with 2 gpu in the same Machine in Beta build 4.00.0.8 XB3. So i desactivated entierely the second GPU in the plugin Option and that works on just only one GPU. Is there a way to activate 2 or more GPU ?

Here the denoiser seems to work fine with two GPUs (in fact now due a to a bug in this build, you have always all the GPUs enabled while rendering with F9/F10). What GPUs are you using? Perhaps there is not enough VRAM in one of them to render and denoise your scene.

Thanks,

I very often get a refusal Octane work if I use a denoiser - without a denoiser all scenes are processed by Octane without any problems.
This happens on any scene, both complex and very simple. I'll try to change the settings in the selection of video cards responsible for the denoiser.

Hi,

The problem can be related to lack of the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package on your system. You can get it here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/downloa ... x?id=53587

If this doesn't fix your problem, you should check if you have your NVIDIA drivers updated to one of the latest ones. Also, a good test to know if your system has any problem with Octane 4, is to check if the Standalone 4 works fine on it. You can download it from this post:

At last I had given this v4 and LW plug-in a try and I am very happy with my results :-)

I got Microsoft visual C++ 2017, 2005,2008, 2010, 2012, and 2013 installed instead of the 2015 one... and i cannot install the 2015 one.
It tells me to remove the others versions, but i am a bit affraid to run intro problems if i desintall my versions with my other software..

I installed the lastest driver of my GTX card too.

Do i really need to de-install 2017 version of visual C++ to get the beta working?

Hi,

You need the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable installed in your system to run the Octane the plugin, not the 2017 one. What error message do you get while trying to install the 1015 redistributable?

In any case, the error that you have attached sounds to me more like a problem with the installation, probably because you have mixed a new plugin build with old Octane.dll/Octane.dat files, perhaps available in your LightWave/bin folder. Remember that now you don't need to copy any file to the LightWave/bin folder, and you should remove the Octane.dll from this place if you have it there.

Thanks,
-Juanjo
