Anyone else notice darker renders coming out of 3.08.1.0? It's seems to be a gamma issue, but not quite. I haven't changed any of my RenderTarget settings either. I didn't use the 3.08.0 production build (went straight to 3.08.1.0) so don't know if it was an issue there. IPR works fine, but have noticed when I use the Save JPG/EXR feature, the images are darker when saved (same gamma issue?). Still on 2015.3, Octane 3.08.1.0.

Also, I don't have the new nodes that are supposed to be in there.

Is it possible to have IPR show changes after a loadrendertarget command, currently IPR needs a reload.

Hi,

Yes, it seems some kind of gamma or tonemapping issue. If you have all the LW color correction options disabled this should not happen. If you have a scene to reproduce this problem, I can take a look at it here.

About your question related to the missing nodes, have you added the 3.08 plugin build to the Layout after deleting the Octane master plugin from the master plugins panel? It seems an installation issue.

That's what I've thought as well (Gamma/Tonemapping Issue). But I haven't done anything different, except load up the new version. Maybe it's related to how I updated, but I updated the same way as in the past and haven't had any issues. I'll try removing to the Master plugin this time and see how that goes.

EDIT: UGH! Sneaky little bugger that LW. I was looking through the Color Settings in LW (like you suggested) and I must've loaded the Newtek default scene instead of the default scene that I regularly use and it had shifted all the color settings back to sRGB.

I apologize for time on something so simple, but I really appreciate that you've always been willing to help no matter what.

Have you installed the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable? Now the plugin is working with it, not with the old 2012 version:

In any case, do you know if the Standalone 3.08.1 works fine on this system? You can find the link to download it on this same topic.

I had the 2017 C++ redistributable installed

I give up for now, got some rendering to do!
