Hi! This is a new test build of the OctaneRender™ 3.0 for LightWave™ plugin version 3.08.0.8, available for LightWave 10.1, 11.6, 2015.3 and 2018.0 Windows x64 and OSX. This build is compiled using the Octane 3.08 RC2 core.
Notes:
- Since we have to use CUDA toolkit 9.1 for that, you may have to update your graphics driver.
- The Windows plugin is now compiled using Visual Studio 2015. If you have problems to add the plugin to the Layout, try again after installing the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/downloa ... x?id=53840
- In LightWave 2018, all the image files must be written from the passes node, even the beauty pass currently. The support of the new LightWave 2018 buffers system will be studied for an upcoming release, along with some other 2018 features, like the new volumetrics system.

* NEW PLUGIN FEATURES:
- The LW camera transformation, focal length and fov information has been added as metadata to the multi-lateyered EXR files.
- New plugin option "Images Altered IPR update" to control if the IPR scene must be reloaded after detecting changes in the images list. Disabled by default.
* PLUGIN BUGS FIXED:
- Fixed a crash due to the lack of deformations motion blur at the frame starting point.
- Fixed a crash in LW2018 while working with OpenVDB files.
- Fixed several issues related to freezes after launching the IPR in LW2018, specially in OSX, but also in Windows.
- Fixed the displacement direction feature in the displacement node.
- Fixed several issues with the OSL camera.
- Fixed a hang in the F9/F10 rendering abort function, that sometimes was really slow.
- Fixed a several seconds hang just before finishing each frame while rendering sequences.
- Fixed a FiberFX crash if the base object is subptached. In any case the fibers UV coordinates are broken for subpatched objects due to a bug in LW2018.
- Fixed a crash in the Octane_ActivateIPR_SelectedOnly and Octane_ActivateIPR_FullScene commands if the plugin is not enabled.
* Bug related to the LightWave SDK that has been fixed by the LightWave developers (available in the next LightWave build):
- The beauty buffer from external renderers is not saved while F10 rendering. Fixed.
- Addressed several crashes updating objects from the Modeler, for example after an incremental saving or while updating materials.
* OCTANE BUGS FIXED:
- Improved deep image rendering by allowing a larger tolerance for merging deep point samples when hitting a surface at a grazing angle.
- Fixed various bugs in deep image rendering.
- Fixed dispersion in specular materials.
- Fixed halos and wrong brightness in PMC.
- Fixed incorrect loading of HDR images that overflow 16-bit floating point numbers.
- Fixed direct light contribution on back-faces of polygons with a glossy material.
- Fixed bug where some indirect reflections are added to the refraction pass.
