The remote GPUs are not shown with buttons to enable/disable them, like the local GPUs. This is not possible. If you open the statistics panel using the "stats" button you should get more information about the remote GPUs state. From your screengrab I'm fairly sure that the remote GPUs are being used.

Open the stats panel using the "Stats" button. The information related to the remote GPUs is there. The buttons to enable/disable the GPUs are there only for the local GPUs.
