Getting displacement and normal maps to play nice?

I've recently got Octane, and already using it on my first job, which involves creating a sculpted logo on a flat surface. I've sculpted the logo in Zbrush, and exported all the objects and maps using the Multimap exporter. It worked pretty well in the native Lightwave render engine, but when I tried to use it in Octane, I get really weird checkerboard-like render artifacts appearing when I add a displacement map and a normal map (to add fine detail) together at the same time. Here's an example of the artifacts (the checkboard shading thing on the raised bits of the logo):

I've looked through the forums and I'm aware this is an Octane issue. However, on other platforms, some people seem to have gotten it to work by using the Octane Material Mixer node for displacement. So far, I haven't got that to work in Lightwave Octane. I wondered if anyone else had managed to mix displacements with normal maps in Lightwave - and if so if they had an example scene they could share?

Hi,

Can you send me the scene to test it here? Could be great to know if the Standalone has the same problem, to see if something can be done from the plugin side, or if it is a core issue.

Thanks,

It seems like a core Octane issue, though some C4D users appear to have got it to work OK. Anyway, I'll upload a version of the scene for you so you can test. Thanks!

I have received it. Thanks! I'll check it, but yes, it seems a core issue.

Thanks,

The new 3.08 update seems to have fixed this issue - hooray!
