I've recently got Octane, and already using it on my first job, which involves creating a sculpted logo on a flat surface. I've sculpted the logo in Zbrush, and exported all the objects and maps using the Multimap exporter. It worked pretty well in the native Lightwave render engine, but when I tried to use it in Octane, I get really weird checkerboard-like render artifacts appearing when I add a displacement map and a normal map (to add fine detail) together at the same time. Here's an example of the artifacts (the checkboard shading thing on the raised bits of the logo):
I've looked through the forums and I'm aware this is an Octane issue. However, on other platforms, some people seem to have gotten it to work by using the Octane Material Mixer node for displacement. So far, I haven't got that to work in Lightwave Octane. I wondered if anyone else had managed to mix displacements with normal maps in Lightwave - and if so if they had an example scene they could share?
