News on Release Date? Tweet

I know it's out of your control but is there any official news that can be relayed to those of us that bought 2018 and have not been able to use it for the last month now? We were originally told "days". I'm sure something has come up...but a little communication could go a long way if it could be made public.

If i remember good Juan said he is waiting for Final of Octane 3.08 and then he will make LW2018 Octane 3.08 build/plugin.

And you can still use 3.08 BETA in LW 2015 if is important so much, it's not like there is many of LW users who own LW2018 only and you can render all in LW2015.3+Octane 3.08 beta what you will be in LW2018+Octane 3.08 - right ?

Yes, sorry. Nothing has changed. Any new plugin release (including the long-awaited 2018 build) is on hold until the next 3.08 Octane Standalone/SDK release.

We are planning to roll out RC 3.08 this week. Many small but important updates made it in there since test 6, a lot from user feedback, which is important given significant changes coming from OSL, toon shading, new metalic materials and more. We felt it best to incorporate everything we could from 3.09 (apart from the denoiser) into the 3.08 stable release, before moving onto the AI denoiser test releases.

Cool. Juanjgon (perhaps an unfair question) how long from 3.08 being released till we get LW/Octane? Is there stuff still to be done, or will you be able to just release it?

I want to publish a new build as soon as possible to release the LightWave 2018 version. Probably later I'll release new builds with the new 3.08 features added to this new upcoming Octane release, and bug/features addressed on the plugin side.

Thanks for the update. Yes I as I'm sure many others would appreciate a release as quickly as possible regardless of the new features they are stuffing into the latest release. A working version that works with the latest release of LW that dropped a month ago would be very appreciated. I'm not complaining to you Juanjo, your on top of it...but it's a shame this has happened.

Just a suggestion but would you be able to release the 2018 beta version that other users have been using for the time being? It would be better than nothing and it's supposedly pretty stable
