Dirt texture to drive displacement amount?

Trying to use the dirt texture to displace the surface of the geometry as is is intersected by other geometry, like surface tension when a fingertip touches water. Even though the Dirt Texture shows up in the diffuse input, how can we pipe it into the displacement so that an object coming in contact with it with displaces the surface, or at least allow us to use the Dirt texture to control the mix of a material or texture fed into the displacement?

Hi,

Have you tried the new baking texture feature in the texture image node? This feature should be able to bake the dirt texture to a raster image that can be used as a displacement map.

Thanks,
