Question about TFD and shading

hi juanjo,
hi @ all,

is it possible to shade the TFD Voxel Container with other Materials as the Medium and Volume Nodes? If i would shade for example water or something like that...
so is than the way to export the sequence as .mdd sequence or is there some other ways? :)

Nope, sorry. Currently only the medium nodes can be used with the volume objects.

Use Houdini ;) ... Sorry, currently the OpenVDB lib functions are not exposed as part of the Octane API, so it is not easy to support this kind of features in host applications like LightWave without native support of the OpenVDB lib.

i know...i`m joking...in blender you can also export vdb to mesh sequences ... (VolumeToMesh) its possible that the deep fx guy can build a vdb>lwo .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrwuASiYjRw i give him a ping...

Not just possible, he already has :)

He just hasn't released it yet with the option to import out side VDB, only transform existing meshes into VDB and mesh them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1pJ9WkimFU
