inconsistent render performance based on kernal

I posted several months ago regarding this, I was waiting to see if performance would change on the latest build. when using a a pmc or path tracing kernal, my slave gpu loads ping between mid 70% and 0%. When using a direct lighting kernal, the gpu loads go to the mid 90s and stay constant until the render is finished. Is this normal performance I should expect live with?

I'm afraid that this is the normal behavior of the PMC kernel. You can try to increase the tonemap interval to see if this helps, or tune some of the kernel parameters, like the Parallel samples or the Work chunk size.
