(.zip ca. 650mb)
with 3.05.03 it render perfect without any issues...
for example CAM 1 Still Shot Frame 100...

I can reproduce the crash here, and I have exported it to Standalone, that also has the same problem with it. These are good news, I'll report the scene to the Octane developers to investigate the problem.

Thanks for the scene!

I tried:

- changing kernel,
- removing post process.
- net traffic minimization on / off
- file format being saved.

no difference.

6000 pixels ok, if above, issue happens on heavy scenes.

cheers.

Sorry asher, it happens on *your* heavy scenes. I can't reproduce this problem here. Can you please pack and send to me one these scenes to try to reproduce the problem here?

As you can see from the LightwaveGuru issue, once I can reproduce the problem here, there are more chances to fix it.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

HI Juango,

I have nevver packed a scene, it is quite big, in terms of tree / grass, textures, etc.

Can you tell me how you want it and i will pack it for you. It happens on many different scenes.

Hi asher,

You can pack the scene using the LW package scene tool, and compress it to a .rar or .zip file. There are several ways to send it (dropbox, wetransfer, etc.). You can send the download link directly to me by pm or to [email protected]

Thanks,
-Juanjo

Hi Juanjo,

I discovered that most of the crashes ( but not always ) is with the PATH TRACING kernel, and much less often with Direct lighting and / or PMC

Unfortunately Direct is not good enough for me and PMC is way to slow plus have some bugs with shadows, so i use only Path tracing, the one with the biggest crash issue.

Asher, I think that the main problem with this large resolution images is related to the preview window, that needs a lot of time to get and dump the raster image, especially if the compositing functions are enabled.

For the next build, I've added an option in the plugin options panel to disable the preview image in the F9/F10 window. This should improve a lot the plugin performance while rendering large resolution images with the compositing functions enabled, and at least here your scenes can be rendered fine with this option enabled.

I am going to send you by pm a custom build to test this feature.

Thanks,
-Juanjo
