I noticed that when switching between Octane and Lightwave render engines, the Octane render target is saved and loaded from the users Lightwave directory which in my case is located here:
C:\Users\Dino\.NewTek\LightWave\11.6.1\LWOctane.rt
This is all well and good if working with only a single project. When switching form Octane to Lightwave, Octane will save out the render target to this directory and load it back in when switching back to Octane Render.
But.. what happens when opening a second or third project, THEN switching to Lightwave render. The Octane render target previously saved in the aforementioned default directory is overwritten. Then the render target from the first project is gone.
I can't imagine it would be too difficult to save out the render target in the current projects' own Content Directory. That way each project would have it's own render target. I'd rather see a default render target saved directory look something like this:
C:\Users\Dino\Projects\House Scene\LWOctane.rt
or with Octane creating it's own folder within the project directory:
C:\Users\Dino\Projects\House Scene\Octane\LWOctane.rt
