Octane standalone works fine however the LW plugin is crashing layout (11.6) every time?? When loading a demo scene it says 'octane XXX plugin failed to start'.
When starting a clean scene and opening IPR ...Crash!

Any ideas?

Many thank
Roger

I will test it tomorrow, but problem is that I don't have a system with Maveriks yet ... do you know if in OSX 10.8 it works fine?

No sorry, I don't have 10.8 running anymore. Other people seem to have it working fine on mac though so I can only assume its Maveriks. My card is an NVIDEA 680MX 2Gb... As I say, the stand alone runs fine and fast...

Thanks

Yes, I have done a lot of tests and here with 10.8 all works fine. There is some kind of problem with Maveriks, but I need to build a system with this last OSX release. I will try to make it ASAP.

When the plugin crash? ... as soon as you enable Octane in a empty scene?

Nope, it crashes as soon as I open the IPR or, when I try to load one of the demo scenes with octane surfaces on the models.

Thanks

Can you please enable the Octane plugin, open the plugin options to enable the log system, and send to me the log file you get after open the IPR?

We have found a problem with last plugin release on OSX Mavericks. We are working on fixing it. I will post a new release for the new OSX version as soon as possible.

Thanks for your support.

Can I just check that this version will work with both 11.5 and 11.6 of lightwave?

Mavericks problems are fixed now.

This release should work with all Lightwave versions. There is a plugin build for LW 10.1, other for 11.5 and other for 11.6, all x32, x64 and OSX.

Also there are new demo versions for all plataforms.

Juanjo, do you have sdk yet?

Are you planning on releasing your own release candidate (like before) right after Octane team toss up the release candidate? If so, do you anticipate being able to release it pretty fast after?

I find myself needing visibility more than most users, I think... but daaaang... I could really, really use it on this current gig.. like a mofo...

It sounds like we finally get gradients too!.. Have you had a chance to mess with this at all?.. I am very excited about that one too - not nearly as much as visibility, but excited nonetheless...

Same as the rest of us: it is a need.
Light exclusion, too.

So odd that Octane is becoming my preferred renderer. I teach LW, so I have to stay vanilla-render for examples, but Octane is so sweet it is easy to neglect the LovedRenderer.

It is, as well, making me more of a Nodal guy; this is most appreciated.

To reiterate, the visibility option in the 1.5 sdk to come is most desired.
