Ok ... problem is the complex structure of this scene.

You have only one object with 150 layers and 156 materials. Plugin add each object layer as one Octane object (to make possible for example the animation or the instancing of single layers), but each one of this Octane object has a copy of all 156 materials inside. So finally you have a Octane scene with about 23400 materials.

When you update one material in the scene, plugin delete all materials inside the object, and add them again. Add and delete materials are very hard for Octane if it has 23400 materials in the scene.

You need to load the object in modeler and break it in some individual parts to work with it inside Octane. You can use the "Save Layers as Object" tool in Modeler to select perhaps groups of 10 or 15 layers and save them as individual objects. I break your object in 12 parts and all works fine now.
