Lightwave 3D Plugin v0.3

Comes with two .obj exporters - you can switch between the two inside the Octane Exporter GUI.
  • "Lightwave HC OBJ Exporter" is Lightwave Layout internal obj writer only available in Lightwave HC (build 2013 or later)
  • "Octane OBJ Export" is written by me and windows only. For Lightwave 9 or later.

Please check the readme inside for more details and differences between the two.

!Please make sure you read both the offical manual on Plugin<->Octane workflow and the readme.txt inside this package before using this plugin.

If you have any issues please give me information what your export settings are and what you're exporting. You can reach me on skype 'walfridson' or at my mail if you want faster contact or sending me files.

Hi,

Thank you for these so usefull plugin.

I have a little issue exporting from lightwave. If I use "render", the plugin create .obj but don't open octane.
I have checked if the path of the .exe and it is ok.

What I'm doing wrong?

Ok fixed with 2.3... don't know wy but it works now... :roll:

Here is some problems I have noticed :

- I'm trying to export an object :

~170 000 polygons.
only 3 points poly.

- Exported from lw9.6 in normal mode. time : 2:55 min

I have Tryied with HC with lightwave obj exporter otion but it make an error in octane...

I hope I can do this project in lightwave because I don't like to use modo's camera. And because this is a animation, I can't wait 2:55 to export each frame.

I don't know if my mesh is not good or why octane makes the error in mesh?

If you're only doing camera animation it will only export first frame.

Model was huge, 5km wide. obj seems to be written fine but not sure why it looks funky. Will test some more
I scaled it down to meters (and exported as meters)

Hi,

I have a issue if I chose to export "focal depht" from plugin. When the scene is loaded in octane, octane crash.
If I uncheck "focal depht" the scene works fine.

Another little question : How we can setup the camera focal lenght to be the same in lightwave and in octane?
