Funniest looking sphere I have ever seen, lol. Juanjo, you have some work to do my friend! And I had to increase the size massively to even get the object seen.

Let's try to be civil and professional. This is not a schoolyard. Expressions like "What an absolute joke!" or "lol" don't help in the software development and support. Thanks.

Let me investigate what's going on with your scene, because here, after reconstructing it from scratch all seems to work fine. I wonder if there is a problem with a specific LightWave version ... here I was working with LW2018. Let me check what happens in LW2015 or LW2019. One possible issue is that the mesh objects to be used as volume containers must be triangulated currently, but it seems that you have other problems not related to that.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

It might not be a schoolyard Juanjo but this is certainly schoolboy stuff, if specific requirements need to be met for something to work then the documentation needs to be clear about those requirements. I'm currently using LW2019.1

Is there any way you can share your scene, so I can see if it renders correctly in my setup. I can compare your differences to mine.

I apologise for my comments, this is frustrating in the extreme, I don't do these things for fun or out of a need to rude.

Thanks for looking into the problem for me

Nope, all seems to work fine also in LW2019.0 and LW2019.1 (using the current LW2019.0 plugin). I've also attached my scene. Can you please check it in your side? Be aware of things like the scene scale, the medium node settings or the triangulation of the atmosphere sphere, something needed to build the volume object.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

No problem! I know that when something doesn't work as expected the experience is always frustrating, but usually, this is not due to a developer joke ;) ... Of course the LightWave plugin, like any other piece of software, has bugs and limitations and we are here to try to help and improve the software as far as we can, but constructive efforts from the users to talk about the problems are always welcome!

Thanks,

Once again, appreciate your help. I triangulated the atmosphere and instantly I am getting results, now I can tweak it to get the look I want.

One final thing Juanjo, what property controls voxel size?

The voxel size is related to the grid resolution, that you can set the volumetrics custom object plugin. If you have a 2x2x2m volume with a 200x200x200 grid size, the voxel resolution will be 1 cm.

While testing the volumetrics I've found a bug. The plugin crashes if you try to build a mesh volume in a null object. It will be fixed in the next plugin builds.
