Option 1 - Octane Visible Environment

Where a Modo "Environment Color" has Projection Type = Front Projection, add an Octane Visible Environment (https://docs.otoy.com/ModoH/ModoPluginManual.htm#Modo/VisibleEnvironment.htm) to the Environments in the Shader Tree, and add the above image to that mask.

Click the Visible Environment button on the Octane toolbar and enable Use RGB Color. Now drag the Visible Environment RGB Color onto the schematic and set the nodes up as follows (note the Octane Transform X Scale is set to -100%).

The Octane Viewport should now match the Modo render.

Option 2 - Compositor

Drag the Kernel->AOV Output Group property onto a workspace, and setup the compositor as follows. Turn on Kernel->Alpha Channel.

Hi paul!

Is this the way to render a backdrop image ? I've been having trouble with that previously.

When I tries this method the only result I get is the image on a sphere and not a plane projected from the camera...

I have updated the post at the top of this thread to include "Option 2 - Compositor".

Thanks
