mdd and motion blur

Hi guys

thought I would bring it up.

Octane (latest version) is not rendering motion blur on objects that are being deformed by an external MDD file.

Any idea when this limitation will be fixed?

Thank you

Hi - for vertex motion blur you will need to export the animation to .ORBX or .OCS and render in Octane Standalone.

https://docs.otoy.com/ModoH/ModoPluginManual.htm#Modo/RenderingAnimations.htm

Thanks

In my example I am rendering frame 7
the tube is deformed by bones
I have exported the orbx

The motion blur between modo and octane (standalone) don't match.

I know this has been mentioned several times. Is there a solution on the horizon ?

Using Win 10 / Modo 14.2 / Octane Standalone 2020.1.5

What is the exact part of the render that doesn't match please?

The motion blur is not matching between Modo and Octane

I have attached 2 images showing the Alpha with the differences between Modo motionblur and Octane motionblur

The discrepancy between Modo motionblur and Octane motionblur is also very obvious not just on the silhouette (like in this example) but also across the entire frame of the rendered image (the attached images just showcase it very clearly that both don't match)

Thank you

Hi - I'm not sure you get an absolute exact match. You may need to tweak the shutter speed. Feel free to send me the scene if you want me to take a look.
