oh now i'm reading the thing about the free license in detail. now that i've used octane 2,3,4 in the past and had to give it up because it wasn't supported anymore i'm not a new customer anymore. and now i've made the one month subscription to play around. but now that means i won't get it for free. damned. no big deal but damned :-) or did I misunderstand?

well i hope the others don't make the same mistake if It is one. anyway happy rendering.

Got the standalone working on the MBP16 but without network render this is really slow, hope that gets here sooner rather than later.

I use C4D and have an external radeon pro wx 9100 - will I be able to make use of this and if not when will it be included? Frustrating to have a powerful external graphics card I can’t make best use of.

Great to have Octane X released. :D

I was able to install it. However, octane x Plugin for Cinema 4D is not rendering for me. It gives me an error of the GPU device is not selected. I tried to select my GPU from octane settings but keep unchecking by itself :|

Any thoughts :?:

Thanks, everyone. :geek:

OpenVDB import seems to be broken. tried multiple valid files but always says 'VDB not found!'

Goldorak: I've just subscribed for a month to try it out. I hope OTOY will honour the free license with a Mac Pro purchase as stated back at WWDC.

Which AMD Card will give you the best performance on an EGPU running on a MBP16?

Radeon VII or 5700 RX?

If you have an Octane Studio or Enterprise sub, then Octane X standalone, and all DCC plug-ins will be available in the downloads section.

SO. EXCITED.

but...

I see Octane X standalone, but no plugins for Mac. I'm looking for the Houdini X plugin, specifically. See attached.

What am I missing?

Juanjo is updating octane X studio for houdini, it will be on the list shortly. Sorry about that. The enterprise build is there.

this is amazing and helps us plan our forward roadmap a bit! its finally here!

when 2020.2 comes out will there be the ability to:

model on a Macintosh workstation and network render with CUDA PCs? Or will it all need to stay one ecosystem?

Exciting times! Congrats to the teams!
