Modo Reference Scenes Issue

Hi

If you import a reference scene into your Modo scene more than once (ie. the same filename reference scene is loaded two or more times), then there is a bug in Modo where the geometry from the scene reference scene is not available.

This problem exists on Modo10 and Modo11, but not Modo901/902.

To get around this problem, make a copy of the reference scene, and load the original reference scene, and then load the copy of the reference scene, and the scene will then render correctly.

I have reported this issue to Foundry.

Paul

My strategy for reference scenes in MODO is don't use reference scenes. There's no small shortage of issues that can blow your project up if you rely on them.

Hi Greg,
I agree that Foundry needs to step up in regards to References / Proxies etc...
There are too many different options, and too many loose ends.

However it is a real shame if we cannot use the tools that are, somehow, there.
Reference materials would make a lot of sense in a bigger pipeline. It seems to work fine with the native materials, so hopefully the Octane overrides can be made to work as well.
