Thank you for very good quick direct+indirect caustics!
We know PPM (Progressive Photon Mapping) method doesn't render any direct+indirect light reflected and/or refracted, unfortunately.
Any direct light (eg: our sunlight, spot, dot light...) reflected and/or refracted on/in any specular material is good at pathtracing kernel but the disadvantage of pathtracing despite new photon tracing kernel: any indirect light reflected and/or refracted is much harder than direct because the pathtracing (in photon tracing kernel) has still no any more efficiency.
But good accuracy indirect light reflected/refracted needs number of spp (samples per pixel):
- ~1-2mega spp at our sunlight but with AI denoiser 100k~200k spp.
- ~400k spp at 2x our sun size
- ~100k spp at 5x " " "
Do you understand this and do you agree this?
But any new method inside of Photon tracing kernel for more efficiency for any indirect light reflected/refracted?
