Sadly, it seems that this means that the multi-renderer and new kernels will not be released in 2021, right?

If you mean the 2021 version no, but if you mean this year, then yes for a preview release of octane 2022 - just as we did with Octane 2020 in back in 2019 and Octane 2021 and in 2020.

So Octane 2021 will not include a multi-renderer etc or there will be no new version of Octane in 2021 and we have to wait for Octane 2022?

The image appears reddish when using the D65 white light spectrum instead of legacy/flat.
So it should be, or am I doing something wrong?

Scene: Octane standard daylight model is set at 45 degrees + 18% gray material. ODT is set to ACES sRGB.
D65 on the left and legacy/flat on the right.

Image

Setting the white point of the Octane Camera to 6500K helps a little, the reddish tint turns yellow.

Does anyone know why the D65 white light spectrum gives a reddish tint and how to work with D65 properly?

This behavior is expected. The daylight models are effectively spectral emitters, and so the choice of which spectrum to view as white will affect their appearance. The Octane daylight model produces light that is quite pink compared to a D65 white spectrum. This is for legacy reasons and hasn't been changed to avoid changing the appearance of old scenes that use this daylight model with the legacy/flat white spectrum.

To remove the reddish tint you could use the eyedropper to pick a part of the scene that you want to appear white (e.g. R=1.0000, G=0.7791, B=0.7554), or use the legacy/flat white spectrum (which the Octane daylight model was designed for), or use a different daylight model.

Setting the white balance to 6500K is not quite right because a 6500K black body is not the same color as D65 (for more information see this image which shows that D65 is a little greener than the closest point on the black body curve (which is approximately 6504K)).

Can we get fog with noise (some areas get fog some don't) like in frozen 2 for 3ds max plugin?

Hey, do you have any estimate on the Polarized Lighting? Would be a very useful feature for car renders. :)
